Continuing two successful brands Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 budget Android smartphones ahead of MWC 2012
Samsung has unveiled two new handsets ahead of next week’s MWC 2012 showing with the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 landing alongside the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.Far from the Samsung Galaxy S3 powerhouse expected to be unveiled by Samsung in the coming months the Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 will service the upper and lower ends of the entry level smartphone market respectively when they touch down in the UK this April.
“The Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Mini have both been hugely successful handsets for us since they launched last year so we’re excited to be bringing our customers refreshed versions of both devices,” said Simon Stanford, head of Samsung’s UK and Ireland Telecommunications & Networks Division.
“Anyone who buys one of these new devices will benefit from even more functionality, including improved processing speeds so they can quickly connect to and browse the internet when they’re out shopping, travelling to work or out with friends. Both devices join our existing Galaxy Family of smartphones again reinforcing our commitment to providing a smartphone for everyone.”
Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Specs
The more specs impressive of the two new Samsung Galaxy arrivals, the Ace 2 is to touch down sporting an 800MHz dual-core processor with a 3.8-inch WVGA TFT display playing host to an 800 x 480p resolution. A 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera is further bolstered by 720p HD video recording capabilities and a second VGA snapper on the front whilst 4GB of internal storage lands alongside 768MB of RAM.
Running Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 plays host to the usual array of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options as well as the company’s much praised TouchWiz UI.
Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 Specs
Targeting the true first time smartphone owner the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 plays host to a more conservative array of innards with an 800MHZ single-core processor included alongside a 3-megapixel fixed focus camera on the rear.
Android 2.3 and TouchWiz feature once again with 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM featuring alongside a 3.27-inch HVGA 480 x 320p TFT screen.
Both tipped for April arrivals Samsung has failed to offer any confirmed prices for the two devices which are expected to be on show at MWC 2012 next week.
